Parallax Outpatient is located in southeast Wichtia, KS. The location offers easy access to public transportation and employment opportunities within the city. The facility offers large group rooms, TV room, game room, snack machines, and friendly, qualified staff to enhance your recovery program.
Oupatient care at Parallax includes intensive outpatient, individual outpatient, a court certified DUI program, and case management services.
Levels of Care    
  • Outpatient Services (OP1)
Is a level of care that provides non-residential alcohol and drug abuse services in a therapeutic setting. Participating clients will be able to function adequately in their own community.
  • Intensive Outpatient (OP2)
Is an intensive level of care that provides non-residnetial alcohol and drug abuse services along with the nurturing support of our qualified counselors.
  • Co-Occurring Services
Addresses the needs of each person diagnosed with mental health and addiction related issues. We have an in-house psychologist who works closely with clients with daul diagnosis.
  • Relapse Prevention
Focuses upon recognizing and blocking the thought processes and symptoms that precede relapse.
  • Anger Management
Is a 13 week program. It assists cleints in identifying issues that lead to problematic emotional response. This course meets curriculum requirements for court ordered clients.
Funding    

Parallax Outpatient has several different funding streams that it participates in, and those streams have their own standards that Parallax Outpatient must following appropriately.

  • AAPS

(Addiction and Prevention Services), also known as “State Funded”

This is a funding stream that each person must qualify for by having a drug and alcohol evaluation/assessment  either through the Substance Abuse Assessment Center of Kansas (SACK), or through a stated funded treatment center that offers drug and alcohol evaluations/assessments. The findings of a drug and alcohol evaluation/assessment are:

     a) qualified level of treatment

     b) qualified funding assistance (poverty guidelines)

Parallax Outpatient does not conduct  AAPS or MEDICAID  evaluations/assessments. Parallax Outpatient Facility refers most inquiries to SACK for these evaluations/assessments, once it is completed SACK, may call and place people on our waiting list for placement into Outpatient once qualified. 

  • MEDICAID

This is a funding stream that persons holding valid coverage for substance abuse treatment through Value Options (managed care provider), may receive treatment without out of pocket expense. This being said every person that holds MEDICAID coverage must still qualify for drug and alcohol treatment by evaluation/assessment through either SACK, or a Medicaid funded treatment facility.  

Parallax Outpatient does not conduct AAPS or MEDICAID evaluations/assessments. Parallax Outpatient Facility refers most inquiries to SACK for these evaluations/assessments, once it is completed SACK, may call and place people on our waiting list for placement into Outpatient once qualified. 
  • SENATE BILL 123
This is a funding stream directed by the Department of Corrections standards, and regulations. An Intensive Supervision Officer (ISO), with either contact Parallax Outpatient to conduct a drug and alcohol evaluation/assessment, and will make arrangements with their client, or a person seeking to follow  the recommendations of their ISO to get a drug and alcohol evaluation/assessment, may contact Parallax Outpatient. A person, or ISO may also contact Parallax Outpatient to place a SB 123 funded client already having had an evaluation/assessment, to begin treatment based of previous evaluation/assessment.
  • SENATE BILL 67
This is a funding stream directed by Kansas Department of Corrections State Parole standards and regulations. Evaluations/assessments are completed through SACK, and referred to Parallax Outpatient, by client preference of location for participation.
  • INSURANCE
This is a funding stream that persons who hold personal health insurance coverage, must personally contact their insurance carrier, and verify their coverage benefits for substance abuse treatment within and Outpatient Treatment facility. It is best that each person state the facility name to the carrier to assure coverage. Once a persons knows their coverage, they still may not be able to pay the balance of their treatment, and may want to follow the procedures for AAPS funding, as a secondary option for payment for services. An evaluation/assessment may be conducted by SACK, or other “State Funded” facilities, to see if a person qualifies.
  • SELF-PAY
This is a self pay funding stream, Parallax Outpatient will conduct a drug and alcohol evaluation/assessment by appointment only.  Client is responsible for full payment of drug and alcohol treatment.
